Roddy Barclay

About

Roddy Barclay is a Director in the Business Integrity & Corporate Governance team at the UK’s development finance institution, British International Investment (BII), where he focuses on the organisation’s infrastructure and climate related investments in Africa and Asia. In this role, he both oversees the management of integrity-related risks in BII’s investment pipeline and portfolio, and works with investee companies to strengthen their risk management capacity, controls and corporate governance. He has also worked on a number of change management initiatives and technology projects, some of which are linked to BII’s regulatory obligations as an FCA regulated investor.

Prior to joining BII in 2020, Roddy headed the corporate investigations and political risk advisory team at Africa Practice, a boutique advisory firm, having started his career at Control Risks, where he also specialised on Africa and worked across a wide range of sectors and issues on the continent. He holds a First Class BA in Modern Languages and a First Class MSc in Environment and Sustainability.
