Chris Chalmers has been Deputy Director overseeing the Illicit Finance and Anti-Corruption Department UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) since November 2022. For the three years prior to that he held the post of Executive Director for the United Kingdom, Italy and the Netherlands at the African Development Bank. Previously, he was Head of Strategy at the UK Department for International Development (DFID), where he led work on the UK’s 2016 Bilateral Development Review, and 2015 UK Aid Strategy. Earlier in his career he held various senior positions with DFID in India and China. Mr Chalmers holds a MSc in Public Policy and Management from the School of African and Oriental Studies, London.
