Chris Basiurski
About
Chris is the current acting Chair of the OECD Working Group on Bribery, having been the head of the UK’s delegation to the Working Group since 2018. He was Deputy Head of the UK’s Joint Anti-Corruption Unit, a policy unit in HM Government responsible for overseeing the UK’s anti-corruption agenda. Previously he was a lawyer for 15 years both at UK Export Finance and in the private sector, specialising in asset finance, financial crime and sanctions. He oversaw the implementation of the UK’s national Anti-Corruption Strategy 2017-22 and was the team drafting its forthcoming successor. He also led the development of the UK’s Magnitsky-style international corruption sanctions regime.
