Ashwin is a highly experienced subject matter expert in Anti-Bribery / Anti-Corruption (ABAC) & major commercial fraud, specialising in corporate internal investigations. He qualified and previously practised as both a commercial barrister and a solicitor (England & Wales), both in-house and in private practice. He has an M.A. in Law from Cambridge University and was called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn and has extensive commercial legal and litigation experience.

Ashwin has a strong track record of successfully delivering corporate investigations, ABAC & anti-fraud risk management programmes, and assurance projects in high-risk jurisdictions. He has a diverse corporate professional record with global multinationals (AstraZeneca plc, Shell International, Barclays Bank plc, BG Group plc) and in legal private practice (39 Essex Chambers and Dentons). He has worked in multiple industry sectors and challenging operational environments.

He has a practical knowhow in managing interactions with regulators, law enforcement agencies and prosecutors (U.S. DoJ, U.K. SFO, U.S. SEC, U.K. FCA, etc). In-depth expertise in Ethics & Compliance best practice and ABAC enforcement risk mitigation, especially U.K. Bribery Act & U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Ashwin has exceptional leadership credentials in ABAC risk assessment, 3rd party due diligence, investigations, training & communication, remediation, policies & procedures, assurance testing/monitoring and audits. Ashwin is recognised as regular ABAC conference speaker and panel contributor. Significant profile across external industry bodies – eg AMLP annual ABAC Conference; TI-UK Business Integrity Forum; ICC UK Anti-Corruption Working Group.
