Arun is a financial services partner at Paul Hastings, London, a major international law firm. His practice has a particular focus on FinTech/Payments and Funds Regulation. Arun’s experience includes a year on secondment to the FSA.

Arun deals with both advisory and contentious matters in the financial services area. He acts for the FCA as well as for the regulated firms community.Arun’s practice has involved acting in all of the recent major financial services matters that regulators and firms have had to deal with. Arun is presently working on a number of Brexit related assignments.

In the period since the financial crisis Arun has: (1) advised clients on client money / asset issues and acted in the Court proceedings relating to the Lehmans Brothers’ insolvency; (2) acted for banks in relation to credit derivatives misselling and litigation issues; (3) advised a major payday lending firm on a range of OFT and FCA supervisory issues including various S.166 reports; (4) advised clients on the Libor and FX investigations; (5) advised fund manager and prime broker clients on the AIFMD; (6) advised bank clients on the SMR; and (7) advised clients in the payments industry on the new payments landscape and regulator (the PSR).

In addition to this, Arun handles day to day compliance matters. Arun has particular experience in complex cross-border matters.
