Ekaterina has worked for EGBA for 11 years, giving her a plethora of experience in the online gambling sector. All of this time she has been on the forefront of the sector’s AML  regulatory and legal work in Brussels, working on subsequent AML legislations, spanning from the 4th AMLD to the new 2024 AML package. Prior to EGBA, Ekaterina worked on complaint and infringement handling in relation to the legislation of DG Health and Consumers at the European Commission. Other experience includes working at the European Parliament and in a Brussels-based consultancy. Ekaterina holds a Ph.D in Health Policy from the Medical University- Sofia as well as an LL.M in European Law and a B.A. in European Studies, both from the University of Maastricht, The Netherlands. She speaks English, French, Dutch and Bulgarian.
